·  PHP – Terms – PEAR – Install

 

- Info:

  - This tutorial shows how to install PEAR.

  - As a prerequisite you have to install PHP package which in root contains directory PEAR and file go-pear.bat.

  - This tutorial is based on http://pear.php.net/manual/en/installation.getting.php.

 

- Procedure:

  - Execute D:\Installed\Programming\PHP533\go-pear.bat

  - local

  - yes

  - Enter

  - Thanks for using go-pear: Enter

 

- Set Environment Variables:

  - Start – Settings – Control Panel – System – Advanced – Environment Variables – New

  - Variable name:   PHP_PEAR_PHP_BIN

  - Variable value:  D:\Installed\Programming\PHP533\php.exe

 

- Test:

  - Start MSDOS

  - pear

    Commands:

    build                  Build an Extension From C Source

    bundle                 Unpacks a Pecl Package

    channel-add            Add a Channel

  - pecl

    Commands:

    build                  Build an Extension From C Source

    bundle                 Unpacks a Pecl Package

    channel-add            Add a Channel

 

- Errors:

  - When you type pear in MSDOS you might get following message:

    PHP_PEAR_PHP_BIN is not set correctly.

    Please fix it using your environment variable or modify

    the default value in pear.bat

    The current value is:

    .\php.exe

  - Set Environment Variable PHP_PEAR_PHP_BIN to D:\Installed\Programming\PHP533\php.exe as shown above.

 

  - When you type pear in MSDOS you might get following message:

    'pear' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

  - Set Environment Variable PATH to D:\Installed\Programming\PHP533.

 

  - After executing go-pear.bat and then typing local and yes you might get following error:

    **ERROR**

    Please, enter the php.exe path

  - Set Environment Variable PHP_PEAR_PHP_BIN to D:\Installed\Programming\PHP533\php.exe as shown above.

    Check if correct drive or PHP version/installation is specified.
