- Talmud is
selection of texts on which beleifs of mainstream Judaism is based.
- Texts are
in form of rabbinic discussions about to Jewish law, ethics, philosophy,
customs and history.
Talmud has two components: Mishnah and Gemara.
(c. 200 CE) is the first written compendium of Judaism's Oral Law.
(c. 500 CE) is a discussion of the Mishnah and related Tannaitic writings and
expounds broadly on the Tanakh.
